No needle lost since there is pillow to the rescue! Your Mom will definitely be impressed with such serious gift! But maybe you’ll need adult’s help making it.

Felt – pink, white and blue

Scissors

Needle, thread (or loaded glue gun, if you can’t sew yet – adult’s help needed!)

Stuffing – you can use cotton balls or polyester batting

Fabric paint (optional)

Directions

Cut out 2 squares approximately 3×3″, round the corners off

Cut out stripe about 1.5″ wide and 10″ length (exact length depends on how you sew pieces together, so allow a bit more and then cut excess off)

Cut the flowers out – we used two layers of petals and center

Sew the flowers to the top of the pillow (just make one cross-stitch through all three layers in the center)

Start sewing the side part around the top. As two ends of the stripe meet, adjust them and sew together

Insert your stuffing into that “box”

Cover with another felt square and sew it over

If you can’t sew, just hotglue all the parts together

You can write with fabric paint on the side: Super Mom! Or #1 Mom! Or any sweet words you come up with

2 felt rectangles 4.5″x6″

Ribbon

Needle, thread

Loaded glue gun or tacky glue (optional)

Directions

Sew the ribbon by the edges of first felt piece

Place second felt piece over and glue it or sew it to the ribboned one

It’s ready!

Note: You might want to add one more layer of felt inside so your rug is thicker (and softer)

For flowers: air dry clay (we used red, orange and purple for petals and green for receptacle (green cup around bottom of the flower crown)

Green chenille stems

For vase: yogurt cup

Marbles or pebbles or anything heavy to put inside the cup (to make the vase stable)

Directions

First, mold the roses. Make “sausage”, flatten, roll. Make six petals – take small clay balls, flatten, pinch on one side, connect around the crown

To make a receptacle (cup), make a ball, flatten it into a pancake

Pierce chenille stem in the middle of “pancake”, put on the rose, adjust a cup

Put the roses in the glass or cup to dry, meanwhile prepare a vase:

Paint yogurt cup, let it dry

Decorate it with stickers, gems, sequins, or draw anything you want with permanent markers

Tie a ribbon around

Fill the cup with something heavy – marbles, pebbles or coins

Put the roses into a new vase

Present to somebody who’ll definitely love it!

Light blue construction paper for background

Light green construction paper for stems and leaves

White, yellow and orange tissue paper for petals and cups

Tacky glue

Directions

Cut out few laths from green paper + leaves

Cut out 4-pointed stars from white and yellow tissue paper

Cut out circles from orange tissue paper

Glue the stems and leaves on the background (mind some space for flowers crowns)

Glue first “stars” at the top of the stems

Glue second “stars” intersecting first ones, as you see on the picture

Put the orange circle over the eraser part of the pen, press and twist firmly, remove pen out

Glue the “hearts” in the center of petals crowns

Directions

Fold the papers (13-14 pages) in half, staple on the bend side

Decorate the cover: you can write “ABC book for Mom” or “For my Mom on Mother’s day 2008″ or any else you consider best. Add some stickers, your faces (cut out of your pictures) plus add pictured body (that’s funnier) and cutout from magazines (what your Mom likes best? Perfume? Fruits? Shoes? Jewelry?)

Open the book and follow up with alphabet pages. Here are examples that can inspire you:

A – Apple – Mom, Thanks for packig my favorite Apples for lunch! (Glue pictures or draw apples)

B - Bike – You always comforted me when I fell off the bike and I felt so much better!

C - Call, Cell – When I grow up, I’ll always remember to call you every day!

Directions

Wash the jar and the lid thoroughly, let it dry

Hotglue embellishments (you can use our picture as an example or decorate it your own way)

Present it to your Mom on Mother’s day – she won’t recognize it!

Directions

Trace a glass’ bottom on the top parts of cereal box (in the middle of each side)

Draw a waves from the top to the sides

Cut it out as you see on the picture

Now you can choose how you decorate you bag – you can paint it and write some words or, you can glue different pictures from magazine all over your bag, let the glue dry and then cover it with sealer so it has finished glossy look

Tie a ribbon around the hanger, make a bow

Sunflower seeds

Tape

Yellow foam scrap

Clear plastic wrap

Pen, black marker

Scissors

Loaded glue gun (just 1 drop of hot glue will be needed)

2 green chenille stems

1 hard wire to hold sunflower head upright

1 small flower pot from craft store (or you can use just yogurt cup + decorations)

Styrofoam ball that fit into flower pot

Directions

Trace a bottom of flower pot on yellow foam

Draw petals around this circle

Cut it out

Trace the flower on the foam again

Cut the center out

Trace the top of flower pot on clear plastic wrap, repeat again (you have 2 circles), cut them out

Place the seeds between two plastic circles, tape the edges neatly

Put the “heart” between two yellow foamy petal crowns, glue them all together

Twist two green chenilles around hard wire, in the middle of stem make two loops – leaves

Stick the stem into the styrofoam ball, fix the ball into the pot. Isn’t it beautiful? You must be very proud of your work, have all the rights to do so!

Key ring (for key ring) or loop for cell phone chain (available at craft store) + small metallic ring

Elastic cord

Directions

Tie elastic cord on key ring or small ring for cell phone chain

String the beads on the cord

Tie the end
